Version 22
Paste your lyrics, time them to your song, style them, and export a video of the lines rolling up one at a time.
In Mixdown, fill in Song details and tap Send to Lyric Scroll under Export, then Open Lyric Scroll. A From Mixdown box appears at the top here: tap Load it and the song, title, artist, cover art (as the background picture), and lyrics fill in. If you already have different lyrics here, it asks before replacing them. Then time the lyrics as usual. Everything stays on your device.
When a video, PNG zip, or project file is ready, a Save [file name] button appears right below the button you pressed, showing the file size. Tap it to save the file to your Downloads folder.
If tapping Save does nothing (common when the app is opened from your phone's Downloads), press and hold the Save button and choose Download link. On iPhone and iPad, Save opens the share menu instead: choose Save Video or Save to Files.
Android may add (1) to a file name if one with the same name is already in Downloads. If a song file won't open later, rename it so it ends in .mp3 or .m4a again.
Tapped to the song lets every line land on the beat. Even spacing gives every line the same number of seconds and doesn't need a song.
To fix one line, pick it under Fix one line. Earlier and Later move it a tenth of a second. Re-tap from here replays a few seconds before that line and lets you re-tap from that point on, keeping everything above it.
If every line feels a little late (normal reaction time), slide Shift all lines to the left.
You can edit lyrics after tapping and keep your timing. Deleted lines are skipped, a reworded line keeps its time, and a new line is placed between its neighbors (marked ≈ in Fix one line). Pick it and press Tap this line to set just that one; every other line stays put.
Type a title in Title line. It fades in and out over the background on its own. Set when it fades in and out (or leave the end empty and it fades out as the first lyric arrives).
To clear the screen mid-song, like during an instrumental, add a line with just - where the break goes and tap it in like a lyric. Every lyric fades away and only the background shows until the next line. Clear screen before the first lyric and after the last (in Timing) does the same at the start and end automatically.
The Size buttons (100%, 85%, 70%) shrink the whole page on a phone so more fits on screen. The Layout buttons under the title switch between Auto, 1 column, and 2 columns on any screen, and remembers your choice. Tap any section name to fold it up, so the preview stays close while you adjust settings. The app remembers which sections you keep closed.
New project clears everything back to the starting example so you can begin a new song (save the current one first). Give the song a title and press Save project to keep a small file with its lyrics, timing, and style. Open project brings it all back, so you can work on several songs or re-export one later in another frame shape. Choose the song and picture again after opening.
Picture has Fill the frame (crops to fill) or Show whole picture (the full photo with black around it), plus a Darker ↔ Brighter slider: left for moody, right to wash out detail.
Use Zoom, Left ↔ Right, and Up ↔ Down to choose which part of the picture shows, like keeping the moon in frame when a wide photo is cropped for 9:16. Re-center picture resets them.
Transparent is for editors that support see-through video. Green screen is for phone editors like InShot and CapCut: add the video as a PiP or overlay layer and use Chroma Key to remove the green. Solid color and Picture make a finished lyric video you can post as-is.
Include the song in the video (in Export) puts the song chosen in Timing right into the video, matched to any clip you set. It works with picture and solid-color backgrounds, and you can turn it off anytime. If your phone can't add audio, the app says so and saves the video without sound.
Without it, the song isn't included in the video file. Add it in your editor or social app, starting at 0:00 so the lyrics stay in sync. Social apps often start a song at a highlight, so drag it back to the beginning.
To post a short clip, check Export only part of the song and set a start and end. Start the song at the same time in your app.
Android, tablets, Chromebooks: tap Install app at the top, or Chrome's menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen). iPhone and iPad: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Once installed, it opens full screen and works offline after the first visit.

A .lrc file is a plain text list of your lyrics with their tap times, like [01:27.40] A line. Use it as a cheat sheet when syncing lyrics in Musixmatch or DistroKid, in music players that read .lrc files, or as a backup of your timing. It includes the timing shift.
A project file keeps the lyrics, timing, and style for one song, so you can switch between songs or come back later. The song and picture aren't included; choose them again after opening.
Type just the numbers and the colon fills in: 127 becomes 1:27.
Uses the song chosen in Timing. Works with picture and solid-color backgrounds.
For times, type just the numbers and the colon fills in (127 becomes 1:27). The title shows on its own over the background. Leave "Fades out by" empty to have it fade out just as the first lyric comes in. It never affects your lyric timing.
One line per row. A line with just - is a timed break: tap it in like a lyric, and the screen clears so only the background shows.
Plays while you tap and during preview. It stays on your device and isn't added to the video.
The song plays from the start. Tap the big button (or press the space bar) the moment each line should come in, then once more when the last line should leave.
Tap this line plays just before it and sets only that line; every other line keeps its timing. Earlier and Later move it a tenth of a second. Re-tap from here re-times this line and everything after it. Lines marked ≈ are new and were placed between their neighbors, so tap them to set them exactly.
If every line arrives a little late, slide left.
Move the picture to choose which part shows: with Fill the frame, slide to pick the crop; with Show whole picture, zoom in a little and slide to frame it. The picture isn't saved when you close the app, so you'll choose it again next time.
In InShot, add the video as a PiP layer, then use Chroma to remove the green. Avoid green text or outlines, and turn off the drop shadow for the cleanest key.
